Author Spotlights Morgan Kearns

I am delighted to introduce my guest Morgan Kearns. I was lucky enough to get to know a little about her since she is in my Critique group plus she is a part of Arizona Dreamin a readers event I went to last year and plan to go again this year too. If you can get to it I highly recommend this event. I've found all the writers to be warm and friendly. The whole event is geared toward giving the reader a better chance to get to know them in a smaller more intimate setting of ten or less.

Now enough from me, time to get comfy and meet Morgan Kearns.

Do you do anything to get you into the zone to write? I need music to write. I flip my iPod on and away I go.

Which authors inspire your writing? JR Ward; I love the way she can describe a scene without the reader realizing that’s what they’re reading. Lynsay Sands & Janet Evanovich; The way they weave humor throughout their storylines is masterful.

What is your favorite book, character and why? JR Ward’s Black Dagger Brotherhood series. No, I can’t pick a favorite book, but Amethyst is my favorite color. *wink*

Do you prefer to write erotic or sweet? Sweet. Definitely sweet.

Which famous person, living or dead, are you drawn to? I love Scarlett O’Hara (yes, I know she’s fictitious). I can’t say that I always agree with her whiny games, but her do-or-die attitude is something to admire.

Where do you see yourself in five years? Even more in love with my husband than I am today!

Finish this sentence: I know I’ve made it when Husband works because he wants to!

What advice would you give aspiring writers? Work hard. Listen to criticism. Never publish anything without having an editor look at it. Write something every day!

What do you see yourself writing in the future? More Rockets baseball (Xavier’s story comes out in May 2012). At least 3 more Bound by a Touch Novels. I have a YA series I’m hoping to finish someday. Oh, gosh! There is no shortage of characters begging for their stories to be told.

If you could have one superpower what would it be and why? Not needing sleep, ‘cause I’d be able get so much more done. LOL! Does anyone else hate housework?

What time of the day are you at your best to write? During the day when the house is quiet (except for my music).

And now for something completely different…

What do you look at first with an attractive man, face, body or smile? Definitely his smile, complete with the sexy laugh lines crinkling next to his eyes.

Explain your perfect day. Sleeping in past 7:00am, lots of relaxation (massage, mani/pedi), and a fabulous book!

What is the most decadent desert you can’t say no to? Oreo truffles. I make a low-fat version that is to-die-for! Eating a dozen of them kinda kills the low fat thing, though. LOL!

Do you have a favorite holiday what is it and what makes it special to you? I love the 4th of July! I’m honored to be an American and am proud to take a day to remember exactly that means.

What key words describe you best? Friendly. Sensitive. Loyal. Kind-hearted. Passionate.
